Natchie is Australian singer/songwriter Nadia Ackerman & the artistic force behind DUMBO's Natchie at The Empire Stores.
Early 1998 Nadia decided to pack her suitcase & move from her native Sydney, Australia to New York City to pursue her dream of being a jazz singer in the big apple. Five pop albums, appearances on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, SNL & Good Morning America, & performances with music industry greats including Sting, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John & Billy Joel latershe has crammed a lot into her career as a singer.
In 2012, Nadia began to see her songs as images, & felt an overwhelming desire to draw her music. Out of this desire was born Natchie (from the nickname her dad gave to her when she was 13). At Natchie , Nadia draws each of her songs; each piece of art comes with lyrics & a free download code to own the song. In addition to her first retail store in DUMBO, Nadia's short film "Time To Live Again" by Healthination, produced & directed by Jacquelyn Lobel has been nominated for a 2017 Daytime Emmy Award. Nadia continues to sing, write & perform & is currently working on her 6th Pop album.
