DESCRIPTION
-----------------------------
In this workshop we will introduce graph database concepts with a focus on using Neo4j for data science applications, specifically graph algorithms. We will learn the Cypher query language for querying graphs, using a dataset of businesses, users, & reviews. We will then see how to apply graph algorithms such as community detection, centralities, pathfinding & similarity metrics for applications such as personalized recommendations, identifying influencers, & routing. Finally, we will transition to using Python to interact with Neo4j, seeing how we can integrate Neo4j & graph algorithms into common Python data science tools such as Pandas, Matplotlib, & Textblob for NLP.

-----------------------------
PREPARATION
-----------------------------
Hardware:
Bring your laptop.

To participate in the workshop, install Neo4j Desktop prior to the workshop:
http://neo4j.com/download

We will be making use of Neo4j Desktop as well as Python notebooks which will be shared prior to the event. You can either run the Python notebooks:
1. locally with Jupyter: http://jupyter.org
OR
2. online through Google's Colaboratory hosted notebooks if you don't have Python/Jupyter installed locally:
