Garry Tan is cofounder & Managing Partner at Initialized Capital, the early stage venture capital firm he founded with Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian. The VC firm has over $700M in assets under management & has a portfolio with over 200 companies, including Coinbase, Instacart, Flexport, Cruise, Rippling, Opendoor, Patreon, Reddit & Zenefits.
Garry was a partner at Y Combinator for close to five years, where he advised & funded over 600 companies, & more than a thousand founders. He also cofounded YC-backed blog platform Posterous, which was acquired by Twitter in 2012. Prior to this, he was Lead Engineer & Designer at Palantir Technologies, where he was a founding member of the engineering team for the company's financial analysis product, & designed their logo.
