The rapid expansion of online cum offline retailers, led by Amazon, is hurting sales & profit margins for a rising number of long established brands. The retailers, which also include Walmart & Trader Joe's, are aggressively pushing their own labels, hurting sales of a wide range of brands from Kellogg's Kashi cereal & Heinz ketchup to Ivory soaps from Procter & Gamble.

How much further will the market share & pricing power of brands decline? Can brand companies do anything to reverse their market share losses? Are there luxury brands that can protect their premium value? Will western luxury brands maintain their global sales growth & profit margins, especially as the Chinese push their own brands? What are the job prospects for the army of MBA's in branding, advertising & marketing? Will they need to learn data analysis, design & coding skills to find high paying jobs?
