The Long Now Foundation's Seminars About Long-term Thinking presents:
Suhanya Raffel, World Art Through The Asian Perspective
Within the next 2 years, the new M+ Museum in Hong Kong will open, & become one of the largest museums of modern & contemporary visual culture in the world. Suhanya Raffel, the museum's Executive Director, leads & oversees all of M+'s activities, including collections building, exhibitions, research, programming, institutional collaborations, & operations.
Raffel is an expert in Asian contemporary art, with over 30 years of professional experience in museum management. She brings her unique experience & perspective in the areas of curatorship, exhibitions & collection development to this Seminar.
The Long Now Foundation & Asia Society Northern California are partnering on a series of talks in Long Now's Seminars About Long-term Thinking series. With the Asia Pacific region being vital to long term thinking for the planet, & especially for those on the Pacific coast, we believe that there is a fruitful collaboration to explore for both of our memberships & the wider public.
The Asia Society's depth of knowledge about critical issues, key leaders & cultural perspectives coming out of Asia can inform the topics, people & conversations featured in the long-running Seminar series curated & hosted by Long Now's president Stewart Brand. Public access to the recorded talks broadens the reach of this in-depth collaboration.
Doors open at 7:00pm
