About the Post-Industrial Forum
Operated by the Post-Industrial Institute in collaboration with industry partners, the Post-Industrial Forum focuses on how to navigate the transition to a decentralized post-industrial economy & culture. Forum attendees & speakers include senior executives, investors, founders, & policymakers.
Decentralization, AI, & the Future of Firms
The decentralization of work inside & outside firms is accelerating. 40% of workdays now take place from the home, & more than half of millennials are doing full-time or part-time freelancing. AI platforms are enabling a new generation of applications which will provide freelancers & startups with super-productivity. This will accelerate the pace of technology disruption in virtually every industry.
AI will not only change how we work, it will affect how we link organizations together, how we do strategy, & how we build new products & services. The Internet & smartphones have already made it possible to create & rapidly scale extremely valuable micro organizations, & progress in AI will move us closer to autonomous firms. Transformation efforts are themselves in need of a transformation, as large organizations strive to innovate faster.
We will discuss:
Transformation challenges in Global 2000 companies
What will super-productivity look like?
AI's impact on transformation strategy
Organization structures for faster transformation
How large firms can mobilize their people with AI
Building micro-organizations
How will AI affect organizational culture?
