EVENT DETAILS |
The San Mateo County AAPI Task Force initiative builds on the momentum of the May 1st Summit hosted by the API Coalition & Civic Leadership USA, which gathered over 100 Asian Pacific Islander elected officials from all 5 Bay Area counties for the first time. Speakers, including CA Attorney General Rob Bonta & Assembly-member Evan Low; many attendees voiced the need to build regional coalitions to combat anti-Asian hate & increase AAPI civic engagement since violence affects us all in the community.
As civically engaged community members, what we can do is much more than expected & effective if we can collaborate with law enforcement & trusted partners as our backbone to build a better & safe city. Thus, San Mateo city faith-based organizations, San Mateo County AAPI Task Force, & Civic Leadership USA (CLUSA) collaborate with the San Mateo City Police Department to invite you to join this round table discussion.
This forum aims to build relationships & trust between all stakeholders & promote shared responsibility for addressing crime & disorder. This is also one of the goals of the SMC AAPI task force we pursue & want to achieve.
Your active participation will make a big difference since it will help all parties understand your challenges & difficulties & allow the resources to assist/allocate to the real needed parties in San Mateo City.
By-invitation-only luncheon meeting, not open to the general public. Don't share unless it's from the same faith organization.
The forum will conduct in three sections, overview, group discussion, & round table discussion.
