About Lauren Cipicchio:
Lauren is one of the leading Investment Engineers at Bridgewater, the largest hedge fund in the world. Currently, she is Head of Portfolio Engineering, both building & managing the 60-person engineering team. Her team develops the algorithms that systematize investment logic for the company's portfolio & trade generation processes. Combining her passion for mathematics, technology, & finance, Lauren helped develop some of the most complex investment algorithms in the department, in addition to teaching business users how to maintain & grow some of these tools themselves. Her passions have grown to design & implement an engineering organization that can handle the ever-changing landscapes of finance & technology.

Lauren graduated from MIT with a degree in Mathematics with Computer Science in 2010, along with several minors in Finance, Statistics, & Gender Studies. Lauren was also a member of MIT's Varsity diving team. Alongside her full-time job, she is currently pursuing a Master's degree at NYU in Computer Science & Gender Studies. Laurens thesis work involves looking at the dynamics of women in the workplace through the lens of intersectional feminism. Lauren is also an avid trampoline artist & yoga instructor for a variety of NYC studios.
