Talk Abstract:

Big players in the media & entertainment industry are constantly asked to face new challenges in todays highly saturated digital market. Media has become so readily available on any computer, tablet, or mobile devices that consumers expect to have access to any form of media anytime they want. As the increase in entertainment demand skyrockets, so has the amount of big data on consumers of media & media consumption trends. In this panel, we will discuss how modern applications of data science in the media industry can help media companies distinguish consumer segments, decipher audience insights, & strategize to execute accordingly. Well also touch base on the impact that data science has affected on the media industry as a whole & pick the expert brains of our data scientist panelists on recommendations on how to break into the media industry as a novice data scientist.

Speaker bios:

Attila is a data science leader at Disneys DTC & International with over a decade of experience leveraging data to drive business value. His team is specialized in building high value data science products to drive personalization & enhance the guest experience. Before joining Disney, Attila worked for Cox Automotive, supporting the Kelley Blue Book & Autotrader.com brands where he led efforts to personalize & optimize the consumer car buying experience. Before that, he consulted for several large insurers in NY to improve their market share, services, & risk identification using big data analytics & advanced statistical modeling. He also created a new regulatory metric to measure consistent wired broadband speed for the FCC to keep service providers accountable to their customers.

Amit is a data-passionate leader with experience in growing & leading cross-functional analytical teams focused on analytics implementation, data management, experimentation, & delivering data-driven solutions to drive key metrics of relevance for an organization.
