CALLING ALL PATENT LAW PRACTITIONERSand CALLING ALL INNOVATORS
For the third year in a row, Cardozo's Intellectual Property Law Society (IPLS') has been chosen as the New York City host of the World IntellectualProperty Organization'sWorld IP Day! WIPO recently announced the global theme for the event, whichisPowering Change: Women in Innovation & Creativity.
To not only celebrate but advance this theme, IPLS will proudly introduce theCardozo/Google Project for Patent Diversity, a project funded by a $200,000 grant from Google. The goal of the Project is to increase the number of U.S. patents issued to women & minorities. Professor Jeanne C. Curtis joined Cardozo's nationally-ranked IP program to spearhead the effort. AtWorld IP Day, Professor Curtis will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the Project as well as other initiatives underway across law, business, & policy that are directed to achieving parity in innovation & creativity; the social & economic benefits of achieving parity; & the ways each & every one of us on a daily basis can help effect change. Our goal is to educate & create awareness about the issues that exist & solutions being engineered. We also hope to attract innovators that the Project can help as well as legal practitioners, businesses, & other organizations who can contribute to the Project, so please help us spread the word!
We won't just becelebrating"Powering change: Women in innovation & creativity", we're activelyworking at it. Be there, take part.
A fun & interactive IP law game is also on the agenda, with no previous IP or legal experience requiredto play & win.
We hope to see you there!
CLE Diversity & Inclusion credits may be available. Please register for the event, which is free, to receive email updates regarding CLE credits.
