Experts of the craft will share practical tips on becoming more effective in communicating your story to Angel investors & VCs, increasing your chances of successful fundraising. Speaker: Anne Shehab | Managing Director, Golden Seeds Anne has over thirty years of experience as a CEO & investor in companies that are focused on developing innovative technologies in medical diagnostics, devices & pharmaceuticals. As part of this work, Anne is a Managing Director of Golden Seeds, a large network of angel investors based in New York, Boston & San Francisco. She also serves on several of the boards of the companies in her investment portfolio. Most recently, Anne led the turnaround of a medical device company, streamlining the product/market strategy, hiring a new executive team, & starting a product development group. This resulted in a significant improvement to net income & growth. Prior to becoming an angel investor, Anne was VP Business Development & Marketing for a medical device start-up company that developed the first fully disposable insulin pump, the V-GO. She was responsible for raising capital, deal-making with big pharmaceutical companies, & marketing strategy. Anne also worked for DuPont as head of business strategy for the Safety & Protection platform, the largest & fastest-growing division of the company at that time. In that role, she was responsible for new product development, M&A, & strategic planning for the group. Anne holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Rice University, an MBA from University of Chicago, & a BS degree in chemical engineering from Edinburgh University. She is a native of the UK, & currently resides with her husband in the Brandywine Valley in Delaware. She volunteers as a business plan advisor for PEP, the Prisoners' Entrepreneurship Program, which helps empower soon-to-be-released inmates to start their own small businesses, & Greater Philadelphia Search & Rescue.
