CONWAY'S GAME OF LIFE
We will be pair programming with each other for THE GAME OF LIFE. The only experience level needed is the ability to solve problems in your head. You definitely will find someone that knows how to write code in attendance. The mission is to get developers of all skill levels accustomed to thinking outside the box. There will be multiple rounds of 15 minute pairing sessions & the object of the game is to NOT finish. Please review before arriving

REPLICATE A PRODUCTION AWS ENVIRONMENT ON YOUR LAPTOP
Most applications developed today have dependencies on Cloud-based services like AWS S3, SQS or DynamoDB. When developing new code locally and/or writing unit tests in rspec, developers frequently are choosing one of two methods to accommodate these dependencies:
SCRUFF has built a ruby library, clientside_aws, that is integral to the way we develop & test one of the worlds largest gay dating apps, powered by Ruby & Sinatra. This library enables us to emulate at an API-level numerous AWS services, including S3, DyanmoDB, & SQS. We use this library in docker alongside dockerized versions of mysql, memcached & redis. Collectively, this approach enables SCRUFF to fully mock our production environment, locally on our laptops, & write new code in a zero-connectivity environment.
Bio
