Provided: Beverages, frameworks, worksheets, & the 1-page concept brief template
What to bring: laptop or notebook
Building got easy. Winning didn't.
AI can turn an idea into a working prototype in a weekend. But faster building doesn't tell you what the right solution is, where the opportunity actually sits, or how your product wins.
That's what this workshop is about.
In 2 hours, you'll map the terrain around your own idea, pressure-test the problem you're solving, & turn what you learn into a plan for what to build & how to win.
You'll work through the same product strategy frameworks I've used in industry, taught at universities including Brown University & Hunter College, & developed through the AI Founder Playbook.
We'll work through:
Competitive Terrain Map
Map the market around your idea: competitors, substitutes, existing behaviors & solutions. See where the market is clustered, what's missing, & where the opportunity may actually be.
Problem Pressure Test
Get underneath your solution & pressure-test the problem itself. Is it important enough? Who feels it most? What are they doing about it today?
Decision Value Stack
Use what you've learned to determine what the best solution actually needs to do - & which product, customer & positioning decisions create the most value.
Your Win Plan
Bring the pieces together: the problem to attack, the solution to pursue, what makes it valuable, & your strategy for winning in the terrain you're entering.
You'll leave with a first-pass Competitive Terrain Map + pressure-tested product strategy + plan to win for your own idea.
Bring something you're thinking about building.
A startup.
An AI product.
A new feature.
An internal tool.
Or the half-built thing sitting on your laptop that you're still not sure what to do with.
Don't spend another weekend just building faster. Figure out what deserves to be built - & how you're going to make it win.
Learn by doing.
