By sharing personal & professional experiences, LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs can humanize their brand, establish trust, & build a loyal following. Moreover, storytelling can help LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs overcome unique challenges such as limited access to capital, partnerships, & other strategic growth opportunities.

The Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center is delighted to be partnering with StartOut to explore strategies that will help LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs create a lasting impact & establish themselves as leaders in their industry. OUR SPECIAL GUESTS

Paige Williams
CEO & Founder, AudPop
How do you love family when everyone fundamentally disagrees?

Paige Williams launched a career as a documentary filmmaker to answer that question. Her first film examined her experience as a Southern gay woman, her parent's ex-gay ministry in Mississippi, & their relationship. That feature documentary, Mississippi Queen, screened in over 100 film festivals, was distributed on Sundance Networks, & won several film festival Audience Awards. Williams' second feature documentary, From Place to Place, created impact on a state & national level, leading to one of the most significant pieces of national child welfare reform legislation.

Williams knows firsthand that one film can change many minds.

Williams founded AudPop in 2013 on the knowledge that connecting filmmakers to opportunities creates change in the world. AudPop is a social impact video sobmissions software company that crowdsources high-quality authentic video-from a network of more than 75,000 global filmmakers-in collaboration with brands around the world. The short films developed by the community deliver compelling stories, connecting brands with audiences. The platform boasts more than 250,000 community members & 3500 hours of film & more than 1 billion social impressions. Williams' company has consequently been recognized by Entrepreneur, Forbes, & magazines for its innovation as a connector between filmmakers & brands.

Williams works from a place of inspiration & belief that good stories inspire change. Her mission is to provide opportunities to elevate stories & their diverse makers. To further support that mission, in 2017, Williams created AudFest to bring together the AudPop community around storytelling, growth, & impact.
