Five city-scale optimization problems, formulated and run live.

San Francisco runs on decisions that are brutally hard to get right: where to site storage on a grid absorbing AI data center load, how to allocate shelters in a disaster, how to sequence berths at the Port of Oakland. Every one of them is an optimization problem, and every one of them is bigger than the tools most teams point at it.

We built Planck to run enterprise optimization problems across quantum backends without requiring quantum expertise, and in July we won the Stanford x Google DeepMind hackathon with a version of it that mapped five Bay Area problems to quantum: data-center battery siting, disaster response shelter allocation, drone defense coverage, traffic signal coordination, and Port of Oakland berth allocation.

In this session we run them live on the Bay Area map and walk through how each one gets formulated, where quantum fits the shape of the problem, and where it does not.

Then we open the floor. Bring a real optimization problem from your company and we will formulate it on stage.

For founders, operators, and engineers who own scheduling, routing, siting, allocation, or capacity decisions. No quantum background needed.
