Alana Mayowas named Head of Production & Development of Outlier Society, a multi-platform production & media company led by actor Michael B. Jordan. In her role she oversees the company's slate of films & television shows.
Projects currently in development under Mayo's tenure include: The Liberators (Warner Bros. attached to distribute); & Failsafe (Netflix attached to distribute).Additional Outlier projects include: the EMMY nominated Fahrenheit 451; David Makes Man from Moonlight writer Tarell Alvin McCranel; Raising Dion; & Just Mercy, starring Jordan opposite Brie Larson & Jamie Foxx.
Previously, Mayo served as Vice President of Production at Paramount Pictures, where she worked on films including A Quiet Place, directed by & starring John Krasinski; Annihilation, written & directed by Alex Garland & starring Natalie Portman; as well the critically acclaimed Fences directed by & starring Denzel Washington.
In her previous role as Production Executive for the studio, she worked on the Academy Award winning The Big Short, directed by Adam McKay & starring Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell & Brad Pitt, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, directed by Michael Bay & starring John Krasinski & James Badge Dale, & the Academy Award Best Picture nominee Selma.
