NYC on Rails is back and we have some stellar presenters lined up! The evening will feature short Ruby/Rails-related talks, followed by Q&A, and networking.

Food and drinks provided by The Flatiron School.

Speaker Lineup:

1.Eli BosworthofCasper:TBA

2.Spike Gronim of Etsy: "High Impact Projects"

Software developers typically have at least 10 projects that they could be working on. You can only do one thing at a time (well), so which project should you work on? Do you need more users, more engaged users, or more money from the users that you have? This talk will cover some quick techniques for estimating impact before you invest your time in a project.

3. Hunter Powers of Jibe: "Document and Test Your Rails APIs With Ease"

Two critical paths to successful API development are the communication of endpoint specifications and the insurance of general availability. The easier we can make these two paths to traverse, the more likely we are to find success. This talk will outline an accelerated flow towards documenting and testing rails APIs with ease.

4.Nick ThuesenofJustworks:"Developing Rails Apps in Docker"

Docker is powerful tool for management and deployment in a production environment. But even if you're not using Docker in production it can make development less of a chore when it comes to setting up and managing your local environments and dependencies. In this talk I will share some of the highlights and pitfalls we've experienced while developing our Rails application using Docker.
