Meet Johannes Suriadjaja & his daughter, Christina. Johannes runs one of Indonesia's largest property, hospitality & construction groups, & he inspired Christina to start Travelio.com at age 23.
The father-daughter perspective on family business
Johannes is a second-generation member of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk, founded by his father in 1971. The company's recent projects include building Indonesia's largest intercity toll road, & hotel/residential property developments, including the acclaimed 5-star Gran Melia Hotel & Banyan Tree Ungasan, Bali.
Johannes Suriadjaja was awarded Indonesia Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of The Year' in 2013 & represented Indonesia at the Annual Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of The Year Event in Monaco in 2014.
His daughter, Christina Suriadjaja, founded Travelio.com at age 23 using $90,000 of her personal savings to get the business off the ground.

Travelio.com is a home rental provider that manages secondary & investment homes for private individuals & property developers by leasing the units for short-term rentals. Indonesia is expected to be the fastest-growing online tourism market in the Asia-Pacific region over the next five years.
