Season 1 Chapter 2. Second episode of a documentary series following a small group of Bay Area founders through a year of outdoor challenges.
Fly fishing looks calm from the outside. It isn't. It's widely considered the hardest fishing discipline to learn - a precise, frustrating skill - & it's quietly physical: hours of wading against a cold current & casting, again & again, until your shoulders feel it. That's exactly why it belongs in the season.
A full weekend in the Sierra Nevada learning to fly fish: reading the water, casting, wading & - if the river cooperates - landing your first trout. Meditative & demanding at the same time & addictive. Guides & all gear provided. Nobody here has it figured out, so beginners fit right in.
This experience will be captured on film - our creative team comes along to shoot a documentary episode of the weekend.
The Plan
Small group (capped ~10).
Friday: Arrive at the Airbnb by 6:00 PM. Settle in, cook dinner together, early night before the river.
Saturday: A full day on the water with expert guides - casting fundamentals, wading, reading the current. After, back to the house to cook dinner, grab a drink & trade stories from the day.
Sunday: Breakfast together & head back to the city by 11:00 AM.
Overnight: Airbnb with separate rooms for every guest.
Who is this for?
Founders & Investors: You want a real mental reset - slow, screen-free, with good like-minded people in a non-transactional environment.
You raised seed to Series B or actively invest in seed+ stages
All Levels: Never held a rod? Perfect. The river humbles everyone equally - experience doesn't help you here.
Supportive Group: We curate the group to be diverse & supportive. This isn't a "boys club" - we strongly value our female anglers & beginners.
