EVENT DETAILS
StartOut is delighted to present Meet the Angels, part of our access to capital series. Our panel of active investors will share the realities, from their perspective, of investing in early stage companies.

The panel will take questions directly from the audience during the event, and also encourages questions to be submitted in advance. After the panel, we will present our highly popular pitch practice competition where a select few entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to practice their pitches for 90 seconds in front of the countdown clock, with the opportunity to win a private feedback session from the panelist(s).

To be considered to pitch, please email a paragraph about your company to info@startout.org.

All-Star Panelists:

Ed Zimmerman (Moderator), Ed is a venture lawyer. He represents start-ups and growth companies in raising money, selling the company or cashing out the founders, and depending on market conditions, public offerings. He puts his money where his mouth is (he's angel invested in more than 30 companies and invested as an LP in several venture funds). One of his VC clients called the companies Ed likes to help tinkertoy internet companies (as opposed to heavy core tech and drug discovery companies) and that suits Ed fine. Digital media, e-commerce, social media, fin tech, SaaS, cloud/virtualization, enterprise software and adtech are, apparently, all tinkertoys.

Shereen Shermak, In addition to her position as CEO of Launch Angels, Shereen serves as a fund manager and as a member of multiple investment committees.

David Tufts, Senior Managing Director of Investments at Oppenheimer and an active angel investor.

Paul Grossinger, Investment committee partner & special advisor to VentureOut, and Director of the Gaingels syndicate for LGBT startup investments.
