Role Roadmap

As an Operations Risk Lead, youll help ensure the stability & integrity of Kalshis markets by overseeing post-trade processing & managing operational risk across our exchange. Youll monitor trading activity around the clock, safeguard customer positions, & serve as the first point of contact for clients & clearing members experiencing operational issues. Youll play a key role in protecting participants, minimizing risk, & shaping the systems that power Kalshis next generation of markets.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily trade & clearing operations across Kalshis current & new markets, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, & compliance
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, brokers, & clearing members facing trade or system issues, ensuring fast resolution & clear communication
• Continuously monitor risk exposure, system performance, & operational controls; swiftly escalate & collaborate with engineering & risk teams to
  address & remediate issues
• Identify operational risks proactively & contribute to the development & refinement of automated monitoring & exception-handling systems
• Lead or participate in incident response, root-cause analyses, & post-mortems, ensuring actionable outcomes & continuous operational improvements
• Partner cross-functionally with other teams to drive continuous improvement in risk management processes, documentation, & governance, enhancing
  Kalshis operational resilience & compliance posture
• Support new clearing & risk initiatives aligned with Kalshis growth strategy and expansion into new markets & trading products

What You Bring

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Familiarity with clearing processes & operational risk management best practices
• 5-6 years of experience in listed derivatives, repo, treasury, or OTC markets, ideally at a clearing house, trading firm, an exchange or a FCM
• Strong analytical capabilities & technical proficiency, including advanced Excel/Google
• Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) & a basic understanding of financial technology systems
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills; capable of working effectively across technical & non-technical teams
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to balance daily operational rigor & long-term risk strategy
• Bonus: Experience working with clearing or exchange systems in a regulated environment
• Bonus: Interest in financial innovation, derivatives, & the future of event-based trading

NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:

Salary Range: $160,000 to $220,000 annually plus equity & benefits.
This salary range is based on the current available market data, & represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy & few titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.
