Position Overview 

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the Social Engineering team responsible for new initiatives, designs & builds deep integrations with the worlds biggest social platforms to measure ad performance. You will make technical choices that ensure industry-leading scalability reliability factors on mission-critical systems that process billions of real-time transactions a day. You will lead the team to accomplish ambitious visions & work directly with engineers from the largest internet companies to collaborate on API development.

What will you do?


  • Lead a great team of motivated engineers & develop critical, large-scale distributed services for DoubleVerify's Social products

  • Consistently delivers large complex projects, services, & APIs that scale in an iterative way that frontloads business value 

  • Oversee end-to-end integrations with the rapidly increasing list of Social Integration Platforms & has in-depth knowledge of business strategies & DoubleVerifys goals.

  • Own major strategic initiatives that consistently & routinely push forward DV Engineering teams 

  • Define processes & structures that enable the strong growth & execution of a diverse engineering organization.

  • Contributes to architectural decisions with a focus on the product & business needs

  • Continuously explore the technical landscape of the Big Data ecosystem through analysis of various frameworks & technologies.

  • Provide technical guidance & coaching to engineers through brainstorming sessions, design reviews, & pair-programming

  • Interacts internally & externally with executive-level management, requiring negotiation of highly critical matters.

  • Communicates technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicates business objectives to the technical team[s].

  • Attract, interview, hire, & onboard talented engineers & team leaders to build a shared team of Data & Software Engineers in DoubleVerifys Social Integrations team. 

  • Continuously optimize SDLC processes, including through the implementation of CI/CD

  • Operate production environments, investigate issues, assess their impact, & develop feasible solutions.

  • Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility for product development & deliver

  • In-depth understanding & hands-on experience of distributed system technologies, standards, & protocols

  • Experience with following & advocating state-of-the-art SDLC processes

  • Fluent in SQL & data analysis, and 

  • 9+ years of programming experience using languages such as Python.

  • 3+ years of Hands-on experience working in big data systems using BigQuery, Airflow, & building data pipelines at scale.

  • 3+ years of experience in leadership roles

  • Experience working with DevOps domain - working with build servers, Docker, & container clusters (kubernetes)

  • Experience in mentoring & growing a diverse team of talented data engineers

  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field

  • Excellent communication skills & a team player

  • 1+ Years of experience in Online Advertising technology (Preferred)

  • Expertise in dbt & BigQuery (Preferred)

The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, & balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV. The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between $128,000.00 - $253,000.00. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, & benefits. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description; however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, & recognize that the person we hire may be more or less experienced than this job description as posted.
