The mission of the Squarespace Commerce team is to provide sellers with the tools they need to build & grow their business on Squarespace. With our priority focus on service sellers, we have an exciting roadmap of work ahead to help service sellers connect with their customers & seamlessly deliver the services & hospitality they strive for.
We are looking for a UX Researcher to support research within Squarespace Commerce. You will support across the Commerce team but embed with teams each half to drive high-priority work. You will work closely with product owners to guide the direction & influence of Research - staying involved with the product teams & training their colleagues to maximize their ability to understand & act upon customer needs.
You will report directly to the UX Research Manager working out of our NYC headquarters 2x a week.
You'll Get To
- Lead end-to-end strategic research while simultaneously rolling your sleeves up on tactical research, including concept & usability testing.
- Shape thought leadership in a specific product / feature area, champion this feature & the underlying customer needs.
- Build & nurture partnerships with cross-functional partners including product managers, designers, data scientists, analysts, customer support, & engineers.
- Build a toolkit of quantitative & qualitative research methods & fluency in business metrics to build & prioritize a research roadmap.
- Present to leadership & find compelling ways to illustrate research findings in order to influence stakeholders & product roadmaps.
- Identify patterns in research happening across teams & establish core insights that impact ongoing prioritization.
- Advocate for research within the organization & on your teams by guiding stakeholders toward the best areas of study, methodologies, & a shared understanding of our users.
- Own multiple projects at one time from briefing to release with support & coaching.
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ UX Research work experience. Previous education & training taken into consideration.
- You are continuing to grow your craft, but bring a deep toolkit of research methods, knowing when & how to apply different methods & customize them to teams' needs & constraints.
- You have experience creating & owning research processes end-to-end & influencing product & teams' direction at a leadership & team level.
- You have experience with market research / working with marketing teams.
- Ability to create & lead mixed method research studies & also instruct Non-researchers on research fundamentals & best practices when conducting lightweight research.
- Ability to provide focus & direction to multiple stakeholders when faced with ambiguity & technological constraints.
- Basic familiarity with analytics & quantitative research & comfortability working with quantitative research partners.

Cash Compensation Range: $118,500 - $165,000 USD
The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.
In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
