Our Engineering Team At Noom, our Engineering team powers the technology behind our mission to help people live healthier lives. We're tackling complex challenges across infrastructure, data, product engineering, & healthcare systems, all while ensuring our platforms are scalable, secure, & reliable. The Noom Med team specifically supports the growth & innovation of our clinical offerings by building robust platforms that expand our medication services & user experience.
About the Role As we continue to grow, were seeking a Technical Lead Manager, Engineering to scale the Noom Med business & expand our platform capabilities. This role will be instrumental in making our infrastructure more robust so we can offer consumers a broader range of clinical services.
You Will
- Lead & manage a team of engineers while contributing directly to code & architecture.
- Drive architectural decisions & help define the long-term technical vision for the Noom Med platform.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across product, clinical, & operations teams to deliver impactful & scalable solutions.
- Balance hands-on coding (30%), architecture design (30%), & people leadership (40%).
- Support career growth for your reports through regular coaching, feedback, & mentorship.
- Ensure quality, security, & performance best practices across our systems.

You Have
- Extensive experience as a backend software engineer, 2+ years as a tech lead/team lead & 1+ years of experience formally managing an engineering team, ideally in a Java/backend environment.
- Strong platform & architectural skills, with backend expertise.
- Comfort working hands-on in codebases & making architectural decisions.
- A proven ability to lead complex technical projects involving many stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in translating technical ideas to non-technical partners.
- Experience hiring & growing engineering teams with a strong & inclusive culture.
- A passion for mentoring & developing engineers.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of FHIR & experience with EMR systems.

Compensation Package
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$225,000.
- This range reflects the minimum & maximum salary target for the position for US-based candidates, at the time of posting. The actual salary offer is based on factors including relevant experience & training, assessment of functional skills & behavioral competencies, & location, among others.

- Noom offers a comprehensive & generous total rewards package. Location This position is a hybrid role, with 2 days/week (Wed & Thurs) on-site required in our Princeton, NJ, USA office.
