Squarespace is looking for a Senior Creative Developer to lead the Frontsite Partnerships team. We are searching for an experienced Frontend engineer who keeps up with the latest techniques in web design & development, with a passion for identifying & handling impactful projects. You have a rare blend of creative, technical, & leadership mindsets. No detail escapes you. You are ready to join a team building award-winning websites for a world renowned publishing platform.

Our team spawns new projects from both strategic hypotheses & creative initiatives. We use data-driven strategy, iteration, & play to craft an experience worthy of the customers we attract. This agile team has the freedom to perpetually prototype & integrate new technologies. You'll work side by side with world-class designers, product managers, & engineers to produce the best work of your career. You'll report to the Software Engineering Manager in our NYC office. This is a hybrid opportunity.

You'll Get To

• Create & improve our impactful websites, including squarespace.com
• Lead a team of 2 engineers
• Develop new projects with our strategy & creative teams, helping people learn about Squarespace
• Build new prototypes to push the boundaries of our developer platform
• Improve site design & performance across a variety of modern devices
• Partner with our Product, Design, Machine Learning, & Analytics Teams

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of industry experience
• 1+ years of team leadership experience
• Strong development skills using JavaScript, HTML, & CSS.
• Familiar with the latest web techniques & libraries (React, etc.) & understand their opportunities & tradeoffs
• Strong working knowledge of responsive web design & cross-platform compatible coding techniques
• Experience using data to form & validate strategic hypothesis
• Comfortable with rapid experimentation & iteration

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
