Jackpocket is the first mobile lottery app in the U.S. that offers players a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, such as Powerball, Mega Millions, & more, via their smartphones. We're creating a more convenient, fun, & responsible way to play the lottery by modernizing the $300B global lottery market with a mobile platform that everyone, including grandma, can feel good about.
Jackpocket is seeking an ambitious & curious finance /accounting student for a 10 week internship. This candidate will gain hands-on experience with month end closing processes, expenses, payables, reporting, & more in day to day collaboration with our finance team. The ideal candidate will be available to work a full-time schedule (40 hours per week) for the 10 week duration.
Responsibilities
- Gain understanding of & participate in the month end close process
- Review accrual accounts to ensure invoices are captured within correct accounting periods
- Assist with expense reporting & payables processes
- Assist in the preparation & review of monthly partnership reports
- Prepare daily, weekly & monthly DGE reporting
- Gain understanding of & participate in end to end casino process
- Aggregate & analyze lottery data from all of our active states
- Communicate with team members at regional fulfillment centers to ensure monthly deadlines are met & internal accounting processes are followed
Qualifications
- Coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Availability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks (Eastern Standard Time)
The pay rate for this role is $20 per hour.
