Warby Parker is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in the Sloatsburg Optical Lab. In this position, you will learn the intricacies of maintaining, troubleshooting, & repairing essential production & facility support equipmentresponsibilities that require analysis & the use of razor-sharp judgment. What youll do:
- Ensure our equipment is running at its best possible performance level (preventing unplanned downtime)
- Lead, coach, mentor, & develop a team of distribution employees through regular meetings to discuss performance, goals, & training needs
- Observe all company policies, rules, & safety practices, including lockout tagout protocols
- Lead & support yearly preventative maintenance program & parts management
- Actively pursue & learn the technology & functionality of the production equipment, processes, parts, & tools
- Test operation of machines periodically, fix issues that might occur during the shift, & perform preventative maintenance work on designated equipment
- Communicate equipment status to coworkers, management, & equipment manufacturers, as needed
- Meeting weekly with the Safety manager to implement & install BBS recommendations for continuous improvement at the lab
- Meeting weekly with the Safety manager to review current SOPs for revisions & work on new standard operating procedures to promote a culture of safety in our lab
Who You Are:
- Equipped with a high school education or equivalent
- Backed by 4 years of experience in maintenance or related experience
- Equipped with previous experience managing a team of 5+ associates in an industrial setting, with a focus on coaching, training, & resolving personnel issues
- Comfortable tackling problems head-on & adapting to shifting priorities
- A motivated self-starter with a no-task-too-small approach & strong attention to detail
- A strategic big-picture thinker who is also highly detail-oriented
- A team player who communicates wellclearly, kindly, oftenwithin our department & across the company
- Able to lift 50 pounds, stand & walk for up to 810 hours, & complete physically demanding tasks
- Certified Vendor Mechanic
- Understanding of mechanical equipment, tools, & programs
Extra credit:
- Previous experience working in the maintenance industry
- Knowledge of TPM & Preventive Maintenance
- Basic Skilled in Google Suite
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
