Warby Parker is seeking a sharp-as-a-tack Senior Manager of Payroll to join our Finance team & drive payroll for our 3,000+ employees across the U.S. & Canada. In this position, youll take on & own complex financial processes, finding ways to evolve & enhance them on your quest toward utmost efficiency & accuracy. What youll do:
- Own multi-state U.S. & Canadian payrolls for 16 legal entities (plus more to come!)
- Be responsible for the timely & accurate compilation of all payrolls in the U.S. & Canada
- Act as the subject matter expert on payroll compliance & ensure compliance with federal, state, & local tax jurisdictionsmonitoring state, provincial, & local registrations for payroll taxes, local health & state unemployment insurance, workers compensation, etc.
- Work closely with the People team to validate changes to compensation, benefits elections, & other deductions
- Lead cross-functional teams on payroll-related projectscontinuously developing processes that are scalable, SOX compliant, & in support of the companys growth, as well as setting up new systems & vendors
- Ensure proper setup of state & local payroll registrations, including withholding tax, SUI, & any applicable local taxes, & work with the People & Legal teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, & local payroll, wage, & hour laws & best practices
- Ensure timely & accurate W-2 preparation at the end of year
- Manage two direct reports & drive the growth & development of the Payroll team
- Assist with audits of internal controls, financial statement areas related to payroll, workers compensation, 401k, & tax
- Assist the Accounting & People teams on ad hoc requests & analyses related to payroll
Who you are:
- A skilled problem-solver with 7+ years of payroll-related experience (plus, youve managed large-scale, multi-state payrolls)

Extra credit:
- ADP Lyric and/or Oracle HCM experience
- Experience processing payroll in Canada
- Familiarly with the accounting side of payroll (e.g., journal entries, reconciliations)
