We are seeking a strategically-minded, technology-focused & customer-centric software development leader. As an Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for leading a combination of Machine Learning & Software Engineers, building the foundational systems for frictionless identity proofing. A successful candidate will have well-established software development & machine learning experience, be a strong communicator, able to run a program from inception to delivery, & be motivated to achieve results in a fast paced environment. This individual will have a history of helping to deliver well-architected, highly-available, & flexible technology platforms capable of accommodating high rates of growth & rapid iteration.


What you'll do:

  • Hire, develop & grow engineering talent by providing career growth support, effective feedback, & performance reviews
  • Own & drive the foundational work of machine learning at CLEAR
  • Lead & drive team ceremonies & strategic roadmapping, while maintaining a high level of collaboration & communication
  • Partner with business stakeholders & product managers to form requirements, priorities, & processes
  • Foster culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, & metrics
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, & can articulate risks & benefits to other less experienced members of the team
  • Drive engineering & operational excellence by demonstrating strong ownership of metrics & goal-setting grounded in data; implement best practices in testing, documentation, & observability

What you're great at:

  • Have worked of all aspects of software engineering, including coding, maintenance, architecture & design
  • Have managed multiple delivery teams, including managing managers
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience with  modern object-oriented languages, design patterns & best practices
  • Experience in building cloud native applications
  • Able to build, manage, & work with multiple teams to achieve defined goals
  • Curious about technology & believe in constant learning

The base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000, depending on levels of skills & experience.

The base salary range represents the low & high end of CLEARs salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience & performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEARs total compensation package for employees & other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units
