Senior Manager of Facilities

Convene is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join our growing organization. The Senior Manager of Facilities will report to our Regional Vice President of Operations & work hand-in-hand with our Senior Director of Construction. They will be responsible for managing daily & ongoing repairs, upkeep & general maintenance for all facilities in the US Convene & etc.venues locations. 

The Senior Facilities Manager will have responsibility for fully managing small capex projects, directing routine maintenance, responding to emergencies, managing risks & implementing preventative maintenance programs.

What Youll Do: 

  • Assess all existing repairs & maintenance vendor relationships then execute new RFPs & negotiate new contracts that lever down pricing & lever up performance.
  • In partnership with our VP of Procurement & Partnerships, develop relationships with vendors to drive performance & quality.
  • Provide management oversight of ongoing Repairs & Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance activities: including any regularly-scheduled monthly, quarterly, bi-annual & annual capex work by property in coordination with Operations for timely execution.
  • Set up databases by property to track repairs, identify ongoing issues, log future budget needs, & work with the Operations team to ensure that the repair request system is functioning optimally.
  • Provide property team escalation support for complex repair issues. Own & oversee major repairs projects. 
  • Review & approve all higher cost repair quotes.
  • Create & manage the 5 year annual repair/maintenance plan.
  • Consult with our Design & Construction team on Small Capex planning. 
  • Create a yearly strategic facilities plan by property & region, working within the budget 
  • Create a workplace client experience plan; executing on a strategy for seamless experience for businesses to move in & out of our spaces. 
  • Manage workplace clients & vendors, creating strategies to increase efficiency & improve the experience for member move-ins & move outs, as well as suite design installation with subcontractors.
  • Hold monthly 1:1s with General Managers to understand their unique property needs & challenges from a facilities perspective.
  • Liaise with Construction & Development in opening new locations, including handshake commissioning transitions for all critical vendors & conducting post construction walkthroughs to confirm no General Contractor deficiencies exist.

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years experience in facilities management for a hospitality, food & beverage / retail company or for a large commercial building landlord / management company  
  • Must have prior experience with, & knowledge of, managing commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, venting, refrigeration etc.)
  • Functional knowledge of HVAC systems, construction cost estimating, project management experience
  • Experience managing contractor relationships & keen negotiating skills
  • Experience with ServiceChannel or other facility management/contractor sourcing software productsDegree in facilities management, construction management, business, engineering, property management, commercial project management or a related discipline preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, must be a self-starter able & eager to take initiative, create & implement new processes
  • Strong communicator & willingness to work cross-functionally across the organization
  • Must be very organized but also simultaneously be able to react quickly to assess & solve active maintenance issues in real time
  • Located in the NYC Metro Area & able to work onsite full-time

Base Salary:

Salary Min: $130,000  Salary Max: $140,000

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums & maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience & other relevant factors.
