The Role youll play:

CB Insights is seeking a Director of Public Relations & Communications who excels in both strategic leadership & hands-on execution. This role is designed for a visionary leader adept at developing comprehensive communication strategies, enhancing brand visibility through compelling narratives, & driving organic growth through organic search & content initiatives. You will manage media relations, content creation, & leverage data-driven insights to promote our brand's story.

Your Main Tasks:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop & execute a public relations & communications strategy that aligns with CB Insights' goals & values, with a strong emphasis on organic search & content-driven growth.
  • Brand Messaging: Craft & maintain compelling brand narratives that enhance visibility & market presence, ensuring message consistency across all platforms & communications.
  • Public Relations Management:
    • Handle inbound media inquiries & build programs to enable top tier media outlets to easily leverage CBInsights data & research.
    • Forge & nurture strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, & industry leaders to secure positive coverage
    • Ensure media coverage aligns with our core target audiences, enhancing brand awareness & reach.
    • Initiate programs to streamline access to CB Insights data for journalists & influencers & engage company stakeholders as subject matter experts to boost visibility.
  • Content Orchestration & Amplification: Work closely with our research teams to leverage our industry-leading content to create high-quality, engaging stories, including press releases, blog posts, & social media posts, tailored to resonate with our target audiences. Leverage CB Insights' data to uncover content opportunities, ideate unique content, & satisfy target audience queries.
    • Orchestrate cross-functional process to amplify & distribute content to drive traffic, leads & opportunities
    • Drive subscriber base for core newsletter program & amplify content via additional channels
  • Grow brand visibility & organic reach:
    • Create a strategy to drive traffic & growth with a strong emphasis on organic search.
    • Uncover content opportunities within product, research portal pages & back end data that can be leveraged as organic assets
    • Use CB Insights data to ideate & craft unique content

  • At least 8 years of experience in public relations & communications, with a proven track record in organic search, content strategy, & media relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop & implement successful PR & communications strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong network of media & influencer contacts.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools to measure content performance.
  • Deep understanding of SEO best practices & content marketing.
  • Knowledge of the tech industry & market intelligence, with an ability to leverage data in storytelling.

Please note this is a US-based role.

In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.

A little bit about our pay practices: Typically, we will hire at our Hiring Target, but actual starting pay may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, & budgetary constraints.
