About the Role

As an Engagement Manager supporting the New York City Department of Education, youll play a critical role in driving customer engagement, adoption, & retention across all NYC DOE schools. In partnership with a Customer Success Manager (CSM), youll act as the strategic & operational lead for engagement within this district, designing & executing programs that strengthen teacher activation, deepen school-level usage, & ultimately improve renewal outcomes.

Youll collaborate directly with school & district leaders, visiting sites regularly to build relationships, understand needs, & implement scalable strategies that deliver measurable impact. This role blends customer strategy, project management, & field execution, all in service of ensuring long term success & retention across the district.

  • Monitor & Act on Health Metrics: Track usage, adoption, & engagement trends to proactively identify risks & implement intervention strategies.
  • Align Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, & Marketing teams to ensure engagement strategies align with broader account & company goals.
  • Strategic Problem Solving: Take a scrappy & creative approach to addressing engagement challenges, adapting tactics to meet evolving customer & district needs.
  • Advocate for the Customer: Represent the voice of NYC DOE stakeholders internally, ensuring their needs & insights influence strategy & decision-making.
  • Youll have the opportunity to exercise discretion & independent judgment on matters of significance, including evaluating customer needs, structuring tailored solutions, negotiating within established guidelines, & influencing revenue & business outcomes.

  • 2-4  years of experience in customer engagement, success, or education-facing roles, preferably supporting large or strategic accounts.
  • Proven ability to use data & insights to drive adoption & retention outcomes.
  • Experience balancing strategic planning & tactical execution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    Highly collaborative, adaptable, & motivated by solving complex customer challenges.
  • Based in or near New York City, this role requires approximately 30% travel to visit NYC DOE schools & meet with district stakeholders.
  • Deep sense of ownership for customer retention. You see retention as the ultimate measure of success & are energized by influencing renewal outcomes through meeting, calling, & speaking with stakeholders & end users

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $65,000 - $75,000
  • On-Target Commission (OTC): $12,500
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $77,500 - $82,500
  • Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options & benefits.
