Were seeking an experienced, empathetic, & strategic HR Business Partner to support client groups in our Corporate teams. Youll work closely with senior leaders to shape a high-performing, values-driven organization & help navigate growth, change, & complexity with clarity & care. This role is ideal for someone who operates independently, thinks critically, & builds deep trust across all levels of the business.
Youll be responsible for delivering high-impact People support across our Corporate functions solving strategic & tactical challenges, implementing scalable programs, & ensuring alignment with Glossiers business goals & mission. With a clear, discerning perspective, courageous communication, & genuine curiosity, youll deliver inclusive, values-aligned solutions that drive results & support our evolving business. You will work onsite in our New York City Headquarters at least 3 days per week, building authentic relationships & fostering trust as a reliable in-office presence. This role reports to the Senior Director of People.
Six Month Expectations
- Partner with functional leaders to develop & execute tailored People strategies aligned with each client groups goals & with Glossiers business priorities.
- Provide hands-on & strategic HR guidance throughout the full employee lifecycle, including org design, performance management, employee relations, change management, talent planning, & other evolving People needs.
- Apply sound judgment to assess the HR implications of business plans, anticipate needs, & design organizational solutions.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business to provide proactive, forward-thinking partnership to functional leaders.
- Drive consistency & excellence throughout all phases of company-wide People programs, from planning & design through rollout, adoption, & continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on headcount planning & hiring strategies that attract & retain top talent who reflect & strengthen our values-driven culture.
- Deliver intentional, pragmatic solutions that increase team effectiveness & leadership impact.
- Foster a values-driven, inclusive, & engaged culture in partnership with functional leaders, & the broader People team.
- Interpret & guide the application of company policies with expertise & discernment, ensuring consistency, fairness, & alignment with our evolving business needs.
- Communicate with clarity & influence in written, verbal, & visual formats to build trust, drive alignment, & support decision-making.
- Champion & embed our values in everyday People practices, fostering behaviors that reinforce a collaborative & connected culture.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Legal, Finance, & People Operations to ensure alignment, compliance, & seamless execution of People initiatives & decisions.
Twelve+ Month Expectations
- Take full ownership of identifying & addressing people challenges within assigned client groups before they surface, clearing blockers, mitigating risks, & ensuring smooth team dynamics & execution.
- Coach & develop leaders to build high-performing, resilient, & inclusive teams.
- Design & lead People initiatives that are tailored to the needs of your assigned teams, reinforcing Glossier's values & business priorities.
- Represent employee & team needs with executive leadership & within the People team, applying strategic awareness to advocate, escalate, or influence as needed.
- Serve as a trusted advisor & thought partner to senior functional leaders, as well as to peers within the People team.
- Leverage people analytics & reporting to identify trends, surface insights, propose solutions, & inform decision-making throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Support & influence employee engagement efforts, including survey design, action planning, & follow-through.
- Lead performance & talent calibrations for your client groups, & partner with People Operations on compensation & growth planning to support fair & consistent outcomes across performance, compensation, & development.
- Drive change management efforts during periods of organizational transition, partnering closely with leaders to ensure clear communication, employee support, & continuity.
- Craft & deliver compelling narratives, documentation, & presentations that build alignment, guide decisions, & elevate People strategies within the org.
- Mitigate risk through thoughtful handling of complex employee relations matters in collaboration with Legal, when needed.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, ideally in fast-paced or scaling environments.
- Experience in a consumer or beauty brand is a plus.
- Proven ability to coach, influence, & build trusted relationships with senior leaders.
- Skilled at supporting & engaging employees across all levels of the organization to drive alignment & performance.
- Deep expertise in org design, performance management, succession planning, change management, & talent development.
- Strong judgment & a high standard for quality, integrity, & discretion.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing conflicting priorities, & working independently in a dynamic environment.
- Self-directed & results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership & follow-through.
- Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, & facilitation with a proven ability to problem-solve & present with clarity & impact.
- Creative & solutions-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs, remove barriers, & drive progress.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict management, & negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated alignment with Glossiers values, including courage, curiosity, & inclusion.
In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum & maximum compensation range for this position:
- The estimated annual pay range for this role is $135,000K - $175,000K.
- There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
