Role Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional & highly experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. As a Principal Data Scientist you will help shape our data science strategy & drive the development of scalable machine learning solutions that power our cybersecurity ratings engine. As a technical thought leader, you will mentor a growing team & collaborate across engineering, product & security teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Define & execute on the data science roadmap to advance SecurityScorecards core analytics & ML capabilities.
  • Lead the design, development, & deployment of advanced machine learning models & algorithms to solve complex cybersecurity challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, & research teams to translate business requirements into robust & scalable data science solutions.
  • Mentor & guide other data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence & continuous learning.
  • Conduct rigorous research & experimentation to identify new opportunities & approaches for improving our products & services.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, & cybersecurity.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts & findings to both technical & non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data science, with a proven track record of leading significant data science projects from conception to deployment.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, & experimental design.
  • Proficiency with Python & experience with relevant data science/machine learning/statistical computing frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn,  PyTorch, Numpy).
  • Strong experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) & cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, & interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the cybersecurity domain is a significant plus.
  • Experience with LLMs is a plus.

The estimated total compensation range for this position is $237,000 - $266,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications & experience, & may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards & equity, among other company benefits.
