About the Role

Were excited to be hiring a Senior Manager, Global Recruiting Operations & Programs at Cockroach Labs. We are seeking an experienced manager to lead our global recruiting operations team & programs & to drive strategic initiatives to optimize our recruitment processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in recruiting operations, program management, & recruiting strategy, along with exceptional leadership & communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to shape & enhance our global recruiting operations to support the company's growth & recruiting initiatives & goals. To be eligible for this role, you must be based in NYC & will be expected to go into our Flatiron office on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays. 

You Will

Recruiting Operations Management:

  • Manage all recruiting operations, including recruiting coordination team oversight, process design, implementation, & optimization for efficiency & effectiveness.
  • Develop & maintain recruiting metrics & analytics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, & drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee & optimize recruiting technology to improve user experience. Provide training & ongoing support to recruiters, hiring managers, & other users for efficient tool utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Recruiting, & Business Partners, to align recruiting operations with organizational goals & priorities.

Program Development & Implementation:

  • Lead the development & implementation of innovative recruiting programs & initiatives to attract, engage, & retain top talent.
  • Design & execute strategic recruiting projects, such as employer branding initiatives & employee referral programs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify talent gaps & develop targeted recruitment strategies to address business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the effectiveness of recruiting programs & ensure alignment with best practices & industry trends.

Team Leadership, Enablement & Development:

  • Provide leadership, direction, & mentorship to the recruiting operations & programs team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, & excellence.
  • Set clear goals & performance expectations for team members, & provide ongoing feedback & support to help them achieve their objectives.
  • Promote professional development & growth opportunities for team members through coaching, enablement, & skill-building initiatives.

The Expectations

In your initial 30 days, your focus will be on familiarizing yourself with our current processes, programs, & systems. You'll have the opportunity to meet with colleagues across the company, establishing relationships that will deepen your understanding of Cockroach Labs. Connecting with fellow Roachers during this period is crucial for gaining insight into our working culture & values. Your responsibilities will include reviewing existing recruiting operations documentation, tools, & systems. Additionally, you'll actively seek feedback from team members, stakeholders, & hiring managers to identify areas for improvement & opportunities for enhancement.

In your initial 60 days, your focus will be on crafting a strategic roadmap to optimize our recruiting operations & programs. Drawing from assessment findings & stakeholder feedback, you'll define clear objectives, goals, & KPIs for our recruiting efforts. Additionally, you'll identify & prioritize key initiatives & projects aimed at driving process improvements & elevating the candidate experience.  You'll then transition into implementing strategic initiatives & programs designed to enhance the effectiveness & efficiency of our recruiting processes. Concurrently, you'll provide training & resources to equip team members with the skills & knowledge needed to excel in their roles.

At the 3-month mark, you will have seamlessly integrated into the team & will begin actively monitoring the performance of our recruiting operations against established KPIs & metrics. This involves evaluating the effectiveness of implemented initiatives & programs & making necessary adjustments & refinements to optimize our recruiting processes & achieve our desired outcomes.

Continuing to engage with key stakeholders will be a priority, as you gather feedback & insights on recruiting operations to ensure alignment with company objectives. Building & maintaining strong relationships with HR, Recruiting, & Business Partners will be essential for fostering collaboration & synergy.

You'll also actively seek input from hiring managers & candidates to drive ongoing improvements in the candidate experience. Additionally, you'll embark on the development of a long-term vision & strategy for our recruiting operations & programs, identifying opportunities for innovation & growth in our global recruiting function.

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in recruiting operations, recruiting, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in designing & implementing recruiting programs & initiatives that drive results.
  • Strong analytical skills & proficiency in recruiting metrics, data analysis, & reporting.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously & deliver high-quality results on time & within budget.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire & motivate team members, foster collaboration, & drive performance.
  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage & influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving, high-growth organization with a preference for those in the technology industry 
  • Must be hands-on with a scrappy mentality coupled with project management fundamentals, adaptable to various tools & methodologies (whether you have SaaS tools in-play or not)
  • In-depth experience with Greenhouse,  & Google Business Suite (e.g., Google Sheets), including the ability to effectively & efficiently handle large amounts of data & translate that into digestible information

She prioritizes accelerating hiring without compromising quality, emphasizing candidate experience & cultural alignment.  She leverages her recruitment acumen & global perspective to drive company growth. Outside of work, Lynette enjoys travel, dining, & fitness activities, with Flamenco Beach in Puerto Rico as a favorite retreat.

Location

This role will be based in our NYC Headquarters & may require occasional travel as needed.

The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $170,000 to $215,000 plus commission if a sales role. We set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, & geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.  Actual salaries may vary & fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidates qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, & competencies. In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, & recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. Salary is one component of the Cockroach Labs total rewards package, which includes stock options, health insurance, life & disability insurance, funds towards professional development resources, flexible PTO, paid holidays, & parental leave, to name a few! Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
