Senior Network Engineer, New York City

Candidates must be based in the NYC region. This full-time position is NYC-based with remote flexibility; onsite as needed

We are seeking an outstanding Senior Network Engineer to join our Global Infrastructure team at Convene Hospitality Group in a fast-paced, agile environment. In this role, you'll tackle a broad range of business initiatives, leveraging a wide set of technologies & tools. You'll be instrumental in supporting our internal CHG team, overseeing network & security infrastructure across our venue properties, multiple cloud environments, & a diverse range of networking technologies. What Youll Do:

The Senior Network Engineer will work on a broad range of business initiatives & objectives for new & current locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leveraging a wide range of technologies & tools to build intelligent infrastructure systems, scalable automation, & managing our centralized networking, server & cloud based  systems. The candidate will be focused & driven to continuously improve our network delivery, monitoring systems, & automation initiatives.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, build, & maintain network architecture for a multi-tenant enterprise that is both corporate & customer facing.
• Partner with both internal & external teams to automate provisioning for new clients & other basic tasks.
• Assist in projects that lead to network improvements including network equipment code upgrades, network hardware upgrades, & network/server application software improvements.
• Work with various vendors & service providers to ensure the production environment is always operating at peak proficiency.
• Build, maintain, & improve a network automation platform
• Build, maintain, & improve cloud based & server based compute platforms using Virtualization, K8s, & containerization. 
• Maintain & improve on an AWS based Cloud Networking environment
• Actively monitor network health across Convene locations, identify & propose solutions to problems before they occur.
• Participate in day to day network operations, when needed as well as an on-call rotation
• Innovate, never accept the status quo.
• Explore new technologies & have fun finding the best tools.
• Identify & implement process improvements.

What We Look For:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with deploying, maintaining, & managing enterprise-scale networks.
• A deep understanding  & knowledge of core networking concepts. Experience with layer 2 & 3 routing protocols, multi-site VPN, WiFi networks, & cloud networking  typically used in any enterprise WAN architecture.
• A technical background in a hosted services environment including infrastructure networks, hardware, software & telecommunications
• Hands-on experience in Juniper JunOS, including SRX, EX, & QFX platforms. Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS & ASA is a plus. 
• Familiarity with WiFi based (802.11ax/802.11be) architecture, technologies, & day to day operations
• Proficiency in IGMP, PIM, & other multicast based protocols
• Ability to develop, deploy, & maintain wide area network architecture through a varying degree of technologies such as SD-WAN, MPLS, VPLS, & L2L VPN tunnels
• Experience using automated network monitoring tools, including building & maintaining a full network automation platform using tools such as Ansible.
• Previous experience in troubleshooting Wireless (WiFi) networks, sufficient knowledge of latest WiFi technologies & IEEE 802.11 standards along with RADIUS & AAA accounting
• Hands on linux server-based operating system experience (RHEL based ideal) 
• Excellent attention to detail, testing & documentation
• Well-versed in Network design concepts that include WAN Architecture, network security engineering principles & system design
• Experienced in building & maintaining KVM based virtual environments
• Passionate about optimizing systems & building scalable network architecture
• Interested in joining a dynamic, creative, & innovative tech organization at the ground level
• Experience with Jira or other issue tracking systems
• Collaboration & adaptability - youre comfortable wearing many different hats

Base Salary:

Salary Min: $160,000 Salary Max: $175,000

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums & maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience & other relevant factors.
