Role Roadmap
Were looking for a seasoned, detail-oriented Technical Accountant to serve as a trusted expert on complex accounting issues & emerging business initiatives. Youll lead the Companys interpretation & application of U.S. GAAP, partner cross-functionally on high-impact projects, & ensure technical conclusions are accurate, well-reasoned, & thoroughly documented. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of accounting, strategy, & regulatory evolution, & whos passionate about shaping accounting policy in a fast-growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Accounting Leadership
- Lead the accounting evaluation for complex & emerging business initiatives, collaborating across teams to identify, assess, & resolve technical issues

Develop well-supported conclusions & high-quality technical memos that stand up to audit & regulatory scrutiny

Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors on technical matters, ensuring transparency & constructive dialogue
Accounting Standards & Policy

Monitor & interpret new accounting guidance from the FASB & other standard-setting bodies, evaluating potential impacts on financial statements

Lead implementation efforts for new standards & ensure consistent application across teams

Develop, document, & maintain company-wide accounting policies, updating them as business operations & regulations evolve
Cross-Functional Partnership & Projects

Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, & Operations to ensure accounting considerations are integrated into business decisions

Support strategic initiatives & special projects, proactively identifying & addressing accounting implications.

Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, documentation, & internal controls
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Accounting & active CPA (or equivalent certification)

5+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or technical accounting roles

Strong preference for experience in financial exchanges, clearing organizations, broker-dealers/FCMs, fintech, or high-growth technology environments

Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP & ability to interpret, apply, & communicate evolving guidance across varied topics

Proven success influencing cross-functional teams & driving alignment across Accounting, Legal, Finance, & Compliance

Analytical, structured thinker with exceptional attention to detail & strong written & verbal communication skills

A lifelong learner passionate about technical accounting, regulatory change, & continuous improvement

NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:
Salary Range: $100,000 to $180,000 annually plus equity & benefits.
This salary range is based on the current available market data, & represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy & few titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.
