As the Director of Engineering (Infrastructure, Scalability, Reliability) at Via, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall performance, availability & resilience of Vias infrastructure. This includes implementing & maintaining monitoring systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address performance bottlenecks & continuously improving the reliability & scalability of our systems & processes to meet the evolving needs of our products & users.
You will steer the technical strategy & vision for our underpinning infrastructure, alerting & monitoring, networking, & development tooling in collaboration with other engineering teams & leadership.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, drive, execute, & lead a long term vision & strategy for Vias Site Reliability, infrastructure, & tooling
- Write, build, deploy, & maintain code in production
- Lead, manage, & grow high-caliber cloud infrastructure engineering teams
- Provide seamless developer experiences in close collaboration with other engineering teams
- Collaborate with engineering groups to establish best practices & standards for incident response & management
- Continuously enhance our infrastructure & supporting procedures so that it is easy to maintain & deploys reliably
Who You Are:
- Minimum of 8+ years experience of industry experience in SRE, cloud engineering & infrastructure, & CI/CD tools
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing a multi-team organization; experience managing teams of site reliability & infrastructure engineers
- Experience designing, deploying, building or managing distributed systems of significant scale
- Professional experience & capability with essential cloud infrastructure systems (Kubernetes, AWS, GCE).
- Track record of growing & assembling a high functioning engineering organization
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks & keep projects on schedule
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a geo-distributed team
- BS degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
Compensation & Benefits:
- Final salary will be determined by the candidates experience, knowledge, & skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
- Salary Range: $230,000 - $250,000 per year
