The Data Engineering team plays a pivotal role in the RtR Technology stack, responsible for both the Data Warehouse & the infrastructure on which all the data pipelines run.  The team works closely with the Data Science, Business Intelligence & Machine Learning teams.

About the Job:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play an integral role in setting up & monitoring the health of data ingestion & transformation pipelines, as well as managing & optimizing our Snowflake instance.  You will provide guidance & collaborate with upstream teams to address data governance concerns & requirements.  You'll have the chance to collaborate with exceptionally skilled individuals & enhance your expertise.  You will gain experience working in a wide range of technologies pulling data in from a variety of sources, including operational data stores like MySQL & MongoDB; web & mobile event tracking logs; internal & 3rd party APIs; streaming data sets; FTP transfers, & more.

What Youll Do:

• Create new data ingestion & transformation pipelines using dbt, Python, & Prefect
• Manage the infrastructure & resources for data processing & storage
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, business intelligence & machine learning engineers to capture their requirements & deliver solutions to meet their needs
• Promote data quality standards to ensure the accuracy, completeness & integrity of data
• Produce & maintain comprehensive documentation including documentation of architecture, data dictionary,  models, pipelines & lineage.

About You:

• 5+ years in a data-professional related capacity (Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, etc.).
• You have expert-level SQL knowledge
• Experience using dbt to transform & test data pipelines
• You write clean, testable Python code & have experience deploying to a production environment
• You have extensive experience using workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect, Airflow or similar
• Experience using cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or similar
• Enjoy learning new technologies & helping others do the same
• You have excellent verbal & written communication skills & are comfortable communicating with both technical & non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with BI tools like Looker or Tableau is an advantage
• You will have an interest in acquiring a skill set required for Data Platform work (i.e. cloud infrastructure, CI/CD processes, & terraform)

The anticipated base salary for this position is $148,000 to $185,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. This position is also eligible for equity compensation.
