Convene is looking for skilled V1 Video Engineers to join our expanding production team in New York City. This position offers part-time to full-time hours on a scheduled shift basis.
The V1 Video Engineer is responsible for managing the operation of large-format video switchers & processing systems to ensure an excellent experience for clients during meetings, conferences, & other live events. This includes handling Analog Way Aquilons, Ascenders, & other high-end equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in video engineering, a deep understanding of video processing for projector blends & LED video walls, & the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
What Youll Do:
- Video Equipment Operation: Set up, configure, & operate large-format video switchers, including Analog Way Aquilons, Ascenders, & similar devices.
- Video Processing: Manage video processing for projector blends & LED video walls, ensuring accurate & high-quality visual output.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly identify & resolve video issues during events to maintain smooth operation & minimal disruptions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with event coordinators, production teams, & other staff to understand video requirements & deliver outstanding visual experiences.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect & maintain video equipment to ensure it is in excellent working condition. Perform routine checks & necessary repairs.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support & guidance to team members & clients regarding video equipment & setups.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of video setups, configurations, & equipment inventory.
- Safety Compliance:Adhere to safety protocols & guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff & guests.
What We Look For:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a V1 Video Engineer or similar role in a hospitality or events setting.
- Proficiency in operating large-format video switchers such as Analog Way Aquilons & Ascenders. Strong understanding of video processing for projector blends & LED video walls, including layer 1 & layer 2 canvas management.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong visual sense & technical precision.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve technical issues.
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members & clients.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, & holidays, as required by event schedules.
- A degree or certification in video engineering, broadcast technology, or a related field is preferred.
