Acuity Scheduling is a distinct brand & platform within the Squarespace suite of products. We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer for our Transactions team. You will join a team that powers business growth for our customers by focusing on increasing their bottom line by building a world-class payment experience & providing tools that increase their revenue.

You will report to our Engineering Team Manager & have the option to work onsite, hybrid, or fully remote. Acuity is headquartered in New York City.

You'll Get To

  • Develop new features for Acuity Scheduling, a PHP & React.js application, with a focus on backend or full-stack contributions
  • Write server-side production code, develop rapid prototypes for new features, & participate in moving our technical designs forward
  • Collaborate with other engineers, & product, design, analytics, & customer operations to understand why we build the features we do
  • Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews)

Who We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another object-oriented language & open to learning PHP. Experience developing large-scale software.
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, & software design practices.
  • An understanding of database schema design, caching, & scalability.
  • A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $88,000 - $173,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
