Associate Director, Sanitation
As the Associate Director, Sanitation you will lead the practice of maintaining the highest level of food safety & quality for our products by creating & implementing Sanitation Programs at all HelloFresh sites. This is a solution-oriented position responsible for effectively supervising the cleaning & sanitation of processing, manufacturing & conveyance equipment, utensils, & ensuring performance metrics are achieved. You will be responsible for the execution of the Sanitation Program & taking corrective actions to drive program excellence. This is a multi-site role that can be based out of one of our facilities in Aurora, IL, Goodyear, AZ or Dallas, TX however, this role will require frequent travel between our Distribution centers & Manufacturing sites across the country.
You will......
- Provide direction to employees to ensure all cleaning & sanitation is executed in compliance with GMPs, Safety, HACCP, & SQF requirements in addition to HelloFresh Global standards.
- Work collaboratively with all departments, team members, contractors & chemical supplier technical staff in troubleshooting & eliminating the root cause of non-conformities.
- Develop & maintain sanitation programs (SSOPs) & training manuals, & train sanitation employees on new sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with all company & regulatory requirements. Monitor & track training progress.
- Oversee the cleaning & sanitization of equipment, surfaces, utensils, & site environment, providing direction & working hands-on with the team while offering technical support to all sanitation employees & other plant employees.
- Plan sanitation requirements, non-daily tasks, & other activities by establishing priorities, scheduling, assigning work, & working closely with sanitation staff & key stakeholders.
- Audit & report non-compliance & take corrective actions to ensure compliance to all quality assurance & food safety requirements on a regular basis.
- Responsible for improving & implementing the pest control program across all sites.
- Track, trend, & provide regular feedback on critical sanitation & pest control metrics (TPC swabs, ATP, Pre-op deficiencies, MSS completion, pest trends, NC closure rate, supplier performance) to maintain all standards, measure performance, & deliver on improvements.
- Conduct & participate in sanitation & pest investigation activities as required.
- Support & execute the Companys Food Safety programs at the facility in conjunction with Quality Assurance, Operations, Maintenance & Food Safety.
- Drive sanitation excellence across the organization.

You Have......
- GED or High School Diploma Required, Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred
- 5+ years of management experience in the manufacturing environment in a Sanitation leadership role (high risk / high care / RTE operations preferred).
- Preferred food safety certifications SQF, BRC, HACCP is a plus
- Strong leadership skills: motivating a diverse team & working cross-functionally to support a common goal.
- Top-notch planning skills, time management, & attention to detail; you are naturally organized & love creating structure.
- Outstanding problem-solving & communication skills; you see problems as opportunities & are able to keep your team focused on the root cause of an issue.
- Proven project management experience with a focus on change management.
- An energetic & enthusiastic attitude with a love for embracing change & new challenges.
- Can-do attitude & flexible schedule, including availability to provide coverage on weekends & overnight shifts.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
