Jackpocket is the first mobile lottery app in the U.S. that offers players a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, such as Powerball, Mega Millions, & more, via their smartphones. We're creating a more convenient, fun, & responsible way to play the lottery by modernizing the $300B global lottery market with a mobile platform that everyone, including grandma, can feel good about.

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the success & continued expansion of our software development function. You will provide day to day leadership to the backend e-commerce team & work to engage, develop, & mentor your direct reports. You will also lead strategic initiatives around the delivery of technical projects & the continued expansion of the team as the business continues to grow rapidly. This is a full time position reporting to the VP of Engineering. 

Responsibilities

• Serve as a central leader for the engineering organization & support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
• Provide day to day management & oversight to multiple teams of direct reports
• Play an active role in the implementation & improvement of engineering processes & best practices
• Provide hands on mentorship, coaching, & career development for direct reports & own strategic employee engagement & retention initiatives 
• Provide technical leadership & project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate with senior leadership in the development & prioritization of long-term technology road maps
• Lead strategy around employer branding & recruitment for the engineering organization

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in a fast paced software development environment
• Proven track record of successfully leading & expanding highly engaged & productive engineering teams
• Experience managing multiple technical teams & leading successful delivery of high quality technical solutions
• Experience managing backend & front end engineers
• Experience with RESTful & event driven services
• Experience with Ruby
• Familiarity with DevOps processes
• Working knowledge of employee engagement & recruitment strategies
• Experience leveraging AI tools for productivity is a plus 

The base compensation range for this role is $190,000 - $210,000
