Group Nine is seeking a Creative Operations Financial Manager. They will mainly be responsible for tracking & managing payroll, campaign budgets, temporary employee budgets, & expenses across Brandshops Departments, including Creative Operations, Video, Art, Talent & Written teams.

This role serves as the operational anchor in providing day-to-day guidance on budget management & in enforcing organized accounting procedures across Brandshops Departments. The Financial Manager must possess strong communication skills, be extremely organized & detail-oriented, & be comfortable working in financial management within creative workflows.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consistently monitor all of Brandshop's campaign budgets. Provide accurate & timely tracking, reporting, & forecasting as scheduled & on an as-needed basis.
  • Directly manage & provide day-to-day guidance on financial workflows & enforce organized accounting procedures
  • Collaborate with producers & team members to create, manage, & wrap out operations portion of production budgets
  • Manage Accounts Payable transactions (incl. POs, invoices, checks, expense reports, pex cards, petty cash)
  • Facilitate onboarding/offboarding of freelance crew as it pertains to payment platforms & support in processing payroll
  • Support month end accounting close (incl. collaborating with Production Finance to organize & pull overall campaign reports)
  • Organize, maintain & archive campaign totals 
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis or reporting as needed
  • Maintain constant knowledge of current & upcoming projects & business development activities. Work closely with Creative Operations team members on tracking & forecasting capabilities
  • Support Creative Operations team members with additional financial operational tasks for Brandshop when bandwidth permits


  • 2+ years of progressive experience accounting for productions within a studio, network, branded agency, production company (digital, commercial, TV, film)
  • Thorough understanding of production accounting practices
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance preferred 
  • Proficient in Excel + familiarity with Greenslate
  • Other Skills (preferred not required): NetSuite, Google Suite, AirTable
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight turnaround times with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, proactive, & high adaptability
  • Must exhibit the highest personal & professional standards of integrity & ethics
  • Highly personable, team player, with curiosity & drive; collaboration is key
  • Strong & effective written & verbal communication skills
