Squarespace is looking for an Engineering Team Manager to lead the API & Service Frameworks team within the Building Blocks Platform Engineering group. This team owns critical infrastructureincluding the public API gateway, Java-based service framework, & external developer portalthat supports both internal development & external integrations. In this high-impact role, you'll guide technical strategy, grow & mentor engineers, & collaborate with stakeholders to shape core systems used across the company.

You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Backend Platform team in our NYC office. This is a hybrid opportunity with three days in the office per week.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience in Java & Spring.
• 2+ years in a team lead, tech lead, or engineering management role.
• Experience building & maintaining frameworks, platforms, or developer tooling at scale.
• Strong understanding of API architecture, lifecycle management, & developer experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $153,500 - $247,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
