Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Director, Corporate Strategy - M&A to join our Corporate Strategy team.

About the role:

As a Senior Director, Corporate Strategy, you will play a critical role in shaping Oscars corporate strategy, determining the course the company will take to maximize enterprise value & growth in a way that is aligned with the mission of the company. You will leverage your expertise in strategic finance & business development to evaluate & complete major initiatives, including M&A, partnerships, & other cross-functional strategic projects. This position is perfect for a strategic leader who excels at building robust business cases & translating strategies into outcomes.

You will report into the Vice President, Corporate Strategy.

Work Location: This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings & events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $232,000 - $304,500 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic Evaluation: Drive the analysis of inorganic growth opportunitiesincluding M&A, partnerships, & investments informed by the company's long-term corporate strategy.
  • Develop Strategic Frameworks: Create & apply analytical frameworks to assess new markets & potential targets, rigorously evaluating their alignment with our long-term vision & competitive advantages.
  • Author Strategic Recommendations: Build & present compelling business cases for major initiatives to the executive team, grounded in deep market analysis & a clear strategic rationale.
  • Support Corporate Governance: Prepare analyses & strategic content to inform & support key governance forums, covering both operational & strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze Market Landscapes: Conduct in-depth research on market trends, competitive dynamics, & emerging technologies to proactively identify & prioritize strategic opportunities.
  • Shape the Integration Strategy: Define the pre-deal integration thesis and, post-close, act as a strategic advisor to functional teams to ensure their integration priorities align with the deal's original objectives.
  • Gather Market Intelligence: Cultivate a network of industry experts, advisors, & thought leaders to gather intelligence & sharpen our perspective on the evolving business landscape.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in a corporate strategy, strategic finance, banking or similar strategic role within the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing complex business cases & financial models to support major corporate decisions.
  • 5+ years of experience directly influencing & advising at the executive level on major financial & strategic initiatives.

Bonus points:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a finance-related discipline from a top-tier program.
  • Proven track record of successfully guiding organizations through significant strategic transactions & growth initiatives.

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
