The Role:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you own new initiatives, design & build world-class bidding algorithms to optimize ad performance. This position will combine analytical rigor, a relentless curiosity, a strong knowledge of statistical methods & experience in implementing them.
What you will do:
- Evaluate & improve DV Scibids optimization algorithms.
- Design, develop & test DV Scibids new products & features.
- Work with massive datasets (billions of ad impressions/month) & millions of variables.
- Solve non-routine analysis problems (not handled by off-the-shelf ML solvers).
- Operate production environments, investigate issues, assess their impact, & develop feasible solutions.
- Understand business needs & work with product owners to establish priorities.
- Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility for product development & delivery.
- Continuously release features using automated deployment tools & framework through Infra-As-Code.
- Provide code reviews & system design for team members.
Who you are:
- Masters degree in applied mathematics (e.g. machine learning, statistics, probabilities, operations research).
- 3+ years of programming experience (excluding internships), preferably in Python, C++, C# or a similar language.
- Experience with DevOps domain - Git, CI/CD, Docker, & container clusters (Kubernetes).
- Excellent SQL query writing abilities & data understanding.
- Familiarity with the Cloud environment.
- Strong communication skills & a team player.
- You provide mentoring to mid-level engineers.
- Passion for automation & data-driven decisions.
- Care about agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, & responsible experimentation.
- Familiarity with the AdTech industry is not required, but is a big plus.
The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, & balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV. The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between $107,000 - $213,000. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, & benefits. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description; however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, & recognize that the person we hire may be more or less experienced than this job description as posted.
