Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events & turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years & legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history. Kalshi is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, & has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture & more.

Role Roadmap

Kalshi Trading is an affiliated trading entity that operates across all different categories on Kalshi. We are looking for backend engineers who can build & maintain the infrastructure underlying our trading operations. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer
• Experience building robust high performance event-driven systems & APIs
• Very comfortable with relational databases (e.g. Postgres)
• Experience writing concurrent code
• Familiarity with the AWS stack (especially RDS & ECS)
• Familiarity with stream processing (Kafka)

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will also potentially have one or more of these attributes:

• Experience directly building trading systems including order management
• Proficiency in Golang
• Familiarity with frontend development
• Familiarity with machine learning, neural networks, or generative AI including LLMs
• Experience trading on Kalshi or other prediction markets

You will have a lot of influence in shaping what both your role & the activity of Kalshi Trading look like as we grow. There's a lot of green field to conquer, we trust that you'll make a lot of it your own.

NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:

Salary Range: $150,000 to $250,000 annually plus equity & benefits.

This salary range is based on the current available market data & represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy & few titles, but a broad range of experience is represented within roles.
