In this role, youll be responsible for creating world-class software applications that power Warby Parker day in & day out. We build most of our technology in-house (think: e-commerce systems, business systems, & everything in between). The point-of-sale system, called Point of Everything, that supports our 100+ retail fleet? The Prescription Check app that lets our customers renew their glasses prescriptions from home? The enterprise resource planning software that runs our business operations? We built them alland more!by listening closely to customers & collaborators alike (from Finance to Supply Chain) & by being relentlessly iterative. Project to project, working here is an exciting opportunity to build products at the intersection of medical devices, e-commerce, retail, & fashion.

What youll do:
- Design & develop world-class backend applications to power our iconic business
- Collaborate with product teams to deliver top-quality technical solutions that drive business value & meet stakeholder needs
- Tackle challenges of scale though solid engineering practices & creative problem solving
- Ensure your products are resilient & meet well-defined service-level agreements (SLAs) with client stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews & help maintain high standards of code quality
- Exceed quality expectations through a strong test-minded approach at every step of the SDLC
- Monitor applications & resolve any issues or SLA violations quickly & efficiently
Who you are:
- Backed by 5+ years of experience in professional software development
- Equipped with a degree in computer science (or a related field)or equivalent work experience
- An expert at building web-scale applications
- Fluent in Python or Golang
- An analytical thinker with a strong understanding of databases & data modeling
- Proficient in API design & standards
- A clear & open-minded communicator (over email, in person, via carrier pigeon!)
- Well-versed in agile work processesyoure comfortable breaking down large pieces of work to deliver value incrementally
- Familiar with unit, integration, load, & other forms of application testing
- Proficient in system & process documentation
- At ease delivering software projects with a high level of autonomy
- Not on the Office of Inspector Generals List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
Extra credit:
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with web & mobile native application (iOS, Android) development
