Since then, Harrys has expanded to Canada & Europe, developed relationships with retailers such as Target & Walmart, expanded our grooming brand into a personal care powerhouse, launched two new brands including Flamingo & Cat Person, & made our first brand acquisition with Lum.

About the team

This role will be part of a global team, comprising the Finance & Accounting, Legal, & Strategy teams spanning North America, the UK & Germany. The global Accounting team works cross-functionally within the broader organization & consists of both commercial & corporate functions. 

About the role

As the Technical Accounting Senior Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial & corporate accounting teams in their day-to-day operations & help inform management on the accounting impact of business decisions. You will be the go-to person on all accounting & regulatory guidance (FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, & SEC) & compose technical accounting memos as needed. You will also play a key role in the annual external audit process, including quarterly reviews, & assist in preparing materials for our quarterly audit committee meetings. You should be comfortable navigating complex accounting matters to support transactions & initiatives that help scale our business.

What you will accomplish

  • Lead the development, implementation, & communication of accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP across our global business
  • Become the go-to source on company wide accounting policies & our in-house technical accounting expert
  • Analyze & provide guidance on accounting & SEC reporting considerations for complex accounting topics including: stock based compensation, M&A/purchase accounting, non-gaap financial measures, & other significant unusual transactions 
  • Actively participate & partner with business leads & accounting team to assist in decision making while maintaining accounting compliance
  • Prepare accounting position memos & work with external auditors to develop & build alignment around accounting conclusions
  • Prepare accounting calculations, journal entries & disclosures related to stock based compensation.
  • Monitor, assess, & implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company, including ESG 
  • Support SOX implementation & compliance
  • Prepare interim & annual disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with US GAAP & SEC requirements

This should describe you

  • A Bachelors & Master's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college. 
  • 8-10 years experience professional experience with a mix of audit & experience in one, or more of the following: Technical accounting for a public filer, SEC reporting for a public filer, Audit firms National practice, relevant Advisory experience
  • Some familiarity with UK & German GAAP a plus
  • IPO experience is a plus
  • Active CPA license 
  • Strong technical accounting expertise. Experience in US GAAP technical accounting research & drafting technical accounting position memos. You love to get technical!
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Able to drive to conclusions on technical matters & convey complex concepts to a variety of audiences, including our auditors, management & business partners.
  • Strategic business partner. Deeply understands how Harrys works & can assist in decision making while maintaining accounting compliance. You are able to explain technical concepts to non-accountants.
  • Effective Cross-Functional Partner. Proactive relationship builder who invests in getting to know cross functional partners & listens to understand whats most important to them. Works to establish trust, reliability, & partnership with folks across our business.
  • Accountable & Proactive Doer. Willing to roll up your sleeves as needed & are 100% reliable, does what you say you will do, & proactively closes the loop. You enjoy an entrepreneurial atmosphere that requires you to work alongside the team & to be comfortable in a lean environment. You have the ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes while simultaneously managing several projects & shifting priorities

That said, our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size & industry, & are one part of our total rewards package, which also includes a comprehensive set of benefits & our equity program. The base salary hiring range for this position is $142,400-$155,000, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidates location, skill level & experience.
